On Thursday, October 19, 2017 the Texas Education Consortium for Male Students of Color (TECMSC) convened at the Tarrant County College-Trinity River Campus. Educational leaders from ISD’s, community colleges, and universities from across the state of Texas, attended the one day institute. Activities included, updates from the Advisory Council, a student/local partners panel, and breakout sessions by region and institution type, among others. We would like to thank our partners at TCC for hosting us.
In addition, on Friday, October 20, 2017, Tarrant County College in collaboration with the University of North Texas, and in partnership with the Texas Education Consortium for Male Students of Color, hosted the inaugural North Texas Male Student Leadership Summit. This leadership experience was open to all high school and college students, and included speakers, activities and networking centered around the themes of Brotherhood, Leadership, College & Career Readiness, and Health & Wellness. Congratulations on putting together a successful event!
