Project MALES is pleased to share our RISE for Boys and Men of Color issue brief highlighting key lessons learned from our work with the Texas Education Consortium for Male Students of Color (Consortium). In this issue brief, we share the vision, mission, and goals of the Consortium, and highlight the challenges and opportunities we have learned through our own long-term strategic planning experience.
It is our hope to disseminate this important work as a collaborative effort to advance the educational outcomes of male students of color at the local, state, and national levels. Through the Consortium, we have learned invaluable lessons from cultivating cross-sector relationships with practitioners and administrators from across the state, which are shared in this issue brief.
Lastly, we wanted to use this opportunity to highlight the key role that our Consortium Advisory Council has played in advancing our work through strategic planning and overall counsel. In addition, special thanks to RISE and colleagues for their support in developing this issue brief and for their commitment to producing asset-based, forward thinking research.
