David Lopez is a Navy, Desert Storm Veteran, 21 year police officer veteran and working on his 13 year as an Educator with AISD. He started his career at Akins High School as a criminal justice teacher there he built one of the largest criminal justice programs in the district. His students were able to earn upon graduation up to 9 hours of college credit and 2 certifications with internships in corrections and 911 dispatching. He earned his BSCJ and MEd both from Texas State University and is working on his Doctorate of Education from Abilene Christian University. Currently David is a Proud Assistant Principal at Martin Middle School. At Martin David was put in charge of the IGNITE after school program for credit recovery, he is the LPAC department chair, crisis intervention supervisor, MBK and UT MALES mentor contact and he mentors up and coming administrators at Martin MS. David was also tapped to be the 2017 Summer School Principal held on the Bedichek middle school campus. During his free time, David enjoys spending time with his children, reading biographies and playing golf.
