Rosalia Gomezis the Education & Outreach Manager for the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC). Rosalia joined TACC in July 2011. She leads education and outreach activities that expand understanding and appreciation of the value of high-performance computing and the career opportunities available in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields, particularly among underrepresented populations.
Grant Loveless is a Texas Civic Ambassador for the Annette Strauss Institute for Civic Life. As an ambassador, he works to identify and cultivate student leaders around the state willing to work to combat apathy and encourage more youth to get involved in civic life.
Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity, Inc. is based on cultural understanding and wisdom. We believe in the principles of fairness, opportunity, and in the equality of all men no matter their race, culture, or ethnicity. Our biggest goal is to see that all of society can realize the importance of these principles. To achieve this goal we all strive to model these behaviors and present ourselves in a gentlemanly and educated fashion. Year after year, the Eta Alpha chapter of Sigma Lambda Beta at the University of Texas produces countless leaders and brothers who go on to change the world, as well as countless hours committed to scholarship, community service, and cultural awareness as well as proving a home away home.
Shawn Kent has a Masters degree in Counseling, is a registered massage therapist, and is a certified Dharma Yoga instructor. Shawn works as a director for Community Yoga and as a counselor at Austin Child Guidance Center where he runs mind-body therapy groups for adolescents in juvenile detention. He also works part-time as a massage therapist, specializing in Thai Yoga massage therapy. Shawn brings a gentle, practical, and therapeutic approach to the healing art of yoga.
Bavu Blakes and Jeffrey Da’Shade Johnson are co-collaborators with Third Root a hip-hop trio made up of two African American and one Latinx hip hop poets, artists, writers, producers, teachers, and professors.
