Baylor University welcomed the 12th Consortium Institute last Friday, February 8, 2019. We are excited to have Baylor University as a recent addition to the Consortium.

Dr. Gary Mortenson, Interim Vice-Provost, and Dr. Sinda Vanderpool, Associate Vice-Provost of Academic Enrollment Management, kicked off this successful event. We continued that morning with Dr. Michael Nava’s presentation on his report and introduction of the New Consortium Advisory Council Members. The Texas A&M University and UT Austin team presented research on the Statewide and Institutional Data, and how to create institutional capacity-building tools and activities. The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board provided the Consortium with the 60×30 data training. There were several concurrent sessions offered: “Introduction to the Equity Root Cause Analysis Tool,” “Plática Discussion Male of Color Initiatives on your Campus,” “Deeper Dive into the THECB Data/Research Digest Findings on Men of Color” and “Financial Literacy and How to Better Serve Our Men of Color.”

Baylor University hosted a wonderful lunch as we had our Local Partner and Student Panel. Participants of the panel included students and staff from McLennan Community College, Baylor University, and local school districts.
We want to thank Baylor University for their warm and inspiring welcome, coordinating all the logistics, and assisting us with the Consortium Institute.
