The Project MALES Research Institute is pleased to announce that members of its research team will be presenting their latest research on Latinx male students at the 45th Annual Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE) Conference. This year’s conference will be held virtually, and it will include more than “400 research and scholarly paper presentations, 25 poster presentations, and over 75 roundtable papers presentations highlighting innovative empirical insights in the study of higher education” (ASHE Annual Conference Website, 2020, para. 1).
The following members of the Research Institute will be presenting at the conference (in alphabetical order): Rodrigo Aguayo, Dr. Jorge M. Burmicky, Dr. Emmet Campos, Christopher Estrella-Ramírez, Rico Gonzalez, Dr. Susana Hernández, Jase Kugiya, Alicia Moreno, Wonsun Ryu, & Dr. Victor B. Sáenz.
As a research team, we are eager to disseminate findings from our new study exploring the educational experiences of Latinx male students at Minority-Serving Institutions (MSIs). This study was conceptualized in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, and we are grateful to have the opportunity to present our findings for the first time at a national research conference. Data collection and analysis for this study is underway, which includes participants from several of our Consortium member institutions with already established Men of Color programs.
