McDonald’s Education Initiative
To continue being part of the solution to close the education gap for Hispanic students in the US, McDonald’s is partnering with CoolSpeak for the eighth consecutive year in an effort to motivate students to pursue higher education; while also increasing awareness of the brand’s support of the HACER® National Scholarship program and other scholarships available to Latino students.
CoolSpeak
A youth engagement organization that inspires students to learn by infusing a “cool” factor into programs and events. CoolSpeak’s motivational speakers will challenge students to achieve their full potential through their own personal life experiences and thought-provoking insights.
How To Participate
CoolSpeak will share official email invitation with schools and school district contacts, who will then disseminate to the individual schools, teachers/counselors, parents, students, etc.
Workshop participants will be provided with a link to the website where the workshop will be streamed. This link can be shared with colleagues, friends and family that may also want to participate.
The dates for the Central Region are:

Pass the Papitas Challenge
As a fun, unexpected moment, the student workshops will open with a video compilation of the Pass the Papitas Challenge.
Each school principal (educator, mascot, etc.)
- starts their video clip in their school attire while eating McDonald’s fries aka papitas.
- Then, after covering the camera momentarily with the fries, he/she will showcase their school spirit and pass the papitas on to the next principal.
Participation is optional. - Once confirmed, Loud And Live will mail a McDonald’s gift card to each School Principal and video guidelines will be shared.

Local Teacher Recognition
- Cool Speak to work with School Districts to Identify 3 Educators (1 per region)
- Districts select total of 6 students, (2 per district) to record testimonial via cell phones or school hardware
- Cool Speak will Surprise and Delight teacher(s), announcing they are being gifted with $$ funds they can use towards school supplies
