Project MALES Mentoring Program – Project MALES Webinar | Register Now | Friday, October 23, 2020, 12:30 – 1:30 PM (CDT)
For the last decade, Project MALES (Mentoring to Achieve Latino Educational Success) has advanced a research and programmatic agenda that supports the success of male students of color across educational sectors through its three interrelated initiatives and in collaboration with national partnerships. Locally, it employs an award-winning evidence-based student mentoring program that cultivates an engaged support network for male students of color in the K-16 pipeline. Nationally, it collaborates with partners like Mentor: The National Mentorship Partnership to advance its work. This webinar will provide both a local perspective on mentoring as an intervention strategy by providing a historical overview of Project MALES, and in the present how it has responded to the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic as it pivots to an online and hybrid mentoring approach. Mentor will provide a national perspective on these challenges and opportunities. This webinar will also highlight student voice and perspective to engage in this critical and timely conversation. Project MALES webinars are tailored to students, researchers, faculty, teachers, and community practitioners working with male students of color.
