The Research Institute is a partnership between The University of Texas at Austin and Texas A&M University, College Station. Co-Founders Dr. Victor B. Sáenz and Dr. Luis Ponjuán jointly manage the research institute collaboration with researchers at each Research I institution.
The Research Institute focuses on understanding the experiences of Latino males across the education pipeline in three ways:
- Engage faculty and research affiliates dedicated to our focus
- Conduct research to produce high-quality publications and reports
- Present research and papers at regional and national conferences
Research Institute Goals
- Provide development and capacity building for Consortium member institutions in their efforts to support male students of color
- Establish a leading research center on Latino males to include other male students of color to disseminate research findings and best practices at the local, state, and national level
