On Monday, September 17th AAMRI kicked-off the first Power Hour for the Fall 2018 semester! One of AAMRI’s own Graduate Assistant’s Javier Wallace came in to speak to our students about Global Fluency and what it means to understand and collaborate across the complexities of language, culture, business, and relationships abroad! By highlighting the value of multilingualism and successfully and positively navigating foreign spaces as young Black men, he inspired and encouraged our students to study abroad in Cape Town, South Africa alongside VP of DDCE, Dr. Leonard Moore, as well as the other study abroad programs within DDCE (i.e. Costa Rica, China, and Mexico).
Our students had the opportunity to share their own international experiences as well as tips/resources on how to travel abroad for the first time! See pictures of the event below, click here to read a few stories from Cape Town Maymester 2018 students, and make sure to come out to the AAMRI Power Hour next Monday, Sept. 24th for some FREE food and fellowship!
