FAQs

Q:  Can my whole group volunteer at the same site?

A:  Yes! We’d love for your group to work together. While we do not guarantee spaces for everyone in your group at the same site, we do our best to accommodate everyone at the site you’ve chosen. We encourage you to have each of your members sign up as soon as possible to get the site you want and ensure that there is enough space for your whole group!

Q:  Can someone else register for me?

A:  No – for liability reasons, we need every volunteer to register individually, and you must sign up through your own account. We have so many volunteers working on one day, we need to be sure that we’ve accounted for the safety and whereabouts of everyone who’s out representing UT Austin on Project day.

Q:  What should I wear to The Project?

A:  All volunteers should wear long pants and closed-toed shoes to volunteer. We will provide a short sleeve white tshirt that you must wear as your TOP layer – this identifies you as a UT volunteer! Please dress according to the weather – often, it is cold in the morning, and very warm in the afternoon. Layers are a good thing!

Q:  What if I don’t know how to get there?

A:  We’ve got you covered! When you register, just check the box that says you need transportation, and come to the shuttle bus stop on campus on Project day! Shuttles leave from SSB beginning at 7:30am for the first shift, and 10:30am for the second shift.
