Pre-college Outreach & Education

WiSTEM precollege outreach and education programs such as Girl Day at UT Austin and high school summer camps are designed to increase awareness of and interest in STEM fields, strengthen STEM identity, increase self-efficacy and sense of belonging for precollege students.

Women in STEM (WiSTEM) summer camps provide high school students with the opportunity to explore STEM career paths, gain hands-on STEM experiences, connect with STEM role models, and experience an in-depth and interactive overview of STEM majors offered at UT Austin. All high school students are invited to apply.

WiSTEM also serves as the administrative home for the Texas Girls Collaborative Project (TXGCP), connecting nonprofits, K-12 schools, higher education institutions, companies, organizations, and individuals across the state of Texas committed to informing and motivating children to pursue careers in STEM.
