Summer Externship Program

Self-Paced | June - July

Make the most of your 2022 summer with the WiSTEM Externship!

Incoming and current STEM students are invited to advance their learning, build skills, and accumulate badges for leadership and career development. This experience (valued at $500) is being offered to students at no cost through our partnerships. The externship is a self-paced experience during the months of June and July.

You can earn 5 badges through this experience to build your resume to advance your career. Completion of the entire course (all modules and lessons to earn all 5 badges) will take approximately 24 hours in total.  The externship must be completed by July 31.

Participants will also be invited to attend weekly Fab Fem Fridays virtual workshops and panel presentations.

Modules / Badges include the following:

  1. Explorations in Mindfulness – Learning Badge Design
  2. Thinking Practitioner – Knowledge Badge
  3. Data Science Foundation Level 1 – Knowledge Badge
  4. Working in a Digital World: Professional Skills – Learning Badge
  5. Job Application Essentials – Learning Badge
These modules and badges are designed to give you credentialed accomplishments for your resume, talking points for interviews, confidence in your professional skills, training/knowledge/learning that will advance your STEM skillset, and more.
