Raised by his mother in “inner-city” Houston. Keelan was molded to be resilient and unafraid to fail. He is now a first-generation college student at UT studying Sociology and Spanish. He has studied abroad in China, South Africa, and Costa Rica within his first three years. Indubitably, Keelan learned more about himself and the world which encouraged him to provide similar opportunities for others through the DDCE Global Student Fellowship. On-campus, Keelan is an active member of the Christian organization, Impact, and The Heman Sweatt Center where he builds community. His involvement with Project Males and UT SPARK allows Keelan to mentor youth in local schools weekly, encouraging them to “take the world by the horns.” Through his extensive involvement with youth, Keelan became a certified trauma coach where he provides socio-emotional coaching to teens. Keelan will combat the ills of holistic health from a mental health perspective upon graduation.
